In the foundry, the temperature of the molten metal is measured at several process points: at the melting furnace, when transferring the melt and at the automatic casting machine. The melt must have a defined temperature to ensure good mould filling behaviour and constant casting quality. CellaCast measuring systems have been specially developed for non-contact temperature measurement of liquid metals.
